YFC Moscow
In 2004 Malcolm Johnston and Paul Lindsay (YFC Mission Partner) visited Moscow. From then a small team of people have been establishing good relationships with different churhes, cultivating partnerships with existing NGO's and mission teams. They have also put into place YFCEE as a resource base for churches who want new materials and programmes to work with children and teenagers, both inside and outside the church circles.
Those in Moscow and Russia as a whole have many projects going that are caring for Children @ Risk and their passionate and commited work is vital. Yet the reach of a single initiative is limited and the pressure of simply meeting the daily needs can render tackling the root of the problems impossible. With a more strategic and united process YFC EE can assist the church in reducing the issues faced by the Children @ Risk.
We act as a conduit in providing links and access to international youth resources. Supporting Russian nationals and encouraging them through training, we believe in the peer principle - that young people can reach out in the cities and villages and find leadership in their own environment.
One can realise the pressures in society and the Moscow Team are engaging, encouraging, supporting, and are challenged in their work as they develop and disciple the youth leaders with their churches to know God.
Please hold up in prayer the Moscow Team and the work in hand.
Thank You
