Moldova is a small country sandwiched between Russia and Romania. It is the poorest country in Europe with a population of over 3.8 million people, the majority of whom are of Romanian descent.
 
It is a fragile country with high unemployment, crippling foreign debt, and according to UNICEF, over half the children are living in extreme poverty. Educational provision is poor and thousands of children grow up without the love and care of even one parent. Without proper supervision and care, girls in particular are at great risk of being trafficked and
exploited in the sex and drug industry.
 
Youth for Christ Eastern Europe saw the tremendous needs of the children of Moldova and working with local village churches, they established day care centres seeking to bring Gods love, emotional healing, care, and encouragement to the children caught up in a never ending circle of poverty. The needs are great, the expansion of the work phenomenal, and today there are 52 day care centres across Moldova.
 
The Work

To help meet the needs of children in Moldova. The Team has been together now for 10 blessed years,and has a great experience of caring for Kids in poverty, providing basic needs of food and love in the Day Care Centres and through the churches.
 
Thank you so much for your prayers and giving, there is so much needing done to support local churches set up day care centres in order to reach children in local communities. At both our Cneazevca Centre and our Recea Centre the Kids will receive love and care, a hot meal, a warm environment, educational support, encouragement and access to bibles stories. We hope to build self esteem and to enable them to grow to their full potential, walking tall in the love of Jesus.
